At the 2025 Docs by the Sea Award Ceremony, the No Nation Films Fellowship Award was presented to the team of director Haeryun Kang and producer Somang Choi for their debut feature documentary Naro’s Search for Space.
The project follows Jaewon, one of the last children on Naro Island in South Korea, home to the country’s first Space Center, where a small community quietly faces disappearance.
The Fellowship provides a six-month program of mentorship and guidance, designed to support documentary film-teams working under vulnerable circumstances. Launched in 2024 to mark No Nation Films’ 10th anniversary, it is our way of paying forward the solidarity and support we ourselves once received.
We are proud to continue our collaboration with Docs by the Sea, Southeast Asia’s key platform for documentary filmmakers, founded in 2017 to connect Asian and international film communities through training, networking, and co-production opportunities.
