In 2025, EICTV launches the first edition of its Documentary Residency, an intensive laboratory for the writing and development of non-fiction projects from August to December 2025. The Residency is composed of eight workshops designed as spaces for reflection, learning and creation, and will be guided by experienced filmmakers, mainly from Latin America, whose work and thought are closely linked to their geographies, memories and vital practices.

No Nation Film’s Orwa Nyrabia will be leading the Residency’s final workshop, called “the Consolidation Lab.” It will focus for two weeks on strengthening the final development portfolio of each project, paying special attention to its international projection and financing viability. Circulation strategies, possible routes of support, funding and co-production will be explored. Throughout the workshop, a teaser will be sketched, the construction and rehearsal of the pitch will be worked on, and a final presentation will be prepared in the context of the Havana International Film Festival.
